Sold the first story I wrote and sent out this month to Tina Burns at Total-e-Bound. I'm excited.

This is the third so far this month. Like the other two it's for a specific call a publisher put out and has to be turned in before January. This time it's an m/m cyberpunk story. There's not a lot of time to work on it, so off I go to write.

Just wondering. I'm already signed up, but I'm not sure I'll actually be doing the book I posted up over there. See I have this new idea for a totally different publisher I'd like to do, and the one I was thinking about working on isn't good for 50,000 words. If it comes out to 40,000 I'd be surprised.

Either way, I have a project, I just have to decide which one to actually write.

Wow....

It's been well over a year since I posted over here. I really need to remember I have this thing instead of simply posting at LJ.

Too busy to post lately.

I'll be trying to make more frequent posts, but no promises.

In a very long time.

I'm really busy with Shadowfire Press work--nothing new there--but it's gotten a lot worse since Auburnimp bailed and decided to retire from our work together.

Writing is going nowhere, unfortunately. It's hard to get much done when I seem to only get one or two days a month to actually sit down and write. That's got to change though, because I seriously need the income from book sales.

In other news, we're going to be moving at the end of May, unfortunately we still haven't found a place. Everything we've seen has been a bust. Too small. Too wrecked. Too stupid... How about the washer and drying in the Living Room for stupidity? It gets better. A basement with only one way out, the stairs? Or, just as mindboggling... A 'master suite' with the sink and shower in the room with the bed and a toilet stuck in a teensy closetoid space? All of this in the same house, btw. Totally unreal.

And now I'm off to do some gardening at a friend's house so we have veggies in the summer.

... and today sucks.

That is all.

I didn't get to write with Auburnimp today, she wasn't online. Not sure why.

I did get to do some writing of my own so now the m/f paranormal western is a few hundred words longer, and I'm going to try working on it again.

I keep getting these odd little headaches in the afternoon. Not sure what's causing them, but they make me feel sort of peculiar. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, maybe he can shed some light on this problem. (I suspect it's the pain meds, to be honest.)

In other news I got some shelves to house my DVD collection here at Coyote's place. They've long since overflowed off my original DVD shelves. I now have--not counting anime--326 dvds. Yes, you read that right. My friends are joking I could open a video rental store.

Of course, since Coyote has this cool sound system and a projector movie nights around here are going to be fun with my selection of DVDs and his home theater. I was saying something about having a 'Kung Fu Theater Night' here. I've got a ton of Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and other martial arts master type movies. We'll see if that goes down or not.

Still no fall colors here, but soon I think. The nights are getting cooler, but there isn't that distinctive scent to the air that happens when fall arrives. Not yet anyway.

That's it for tonight.

Except for the dragons of course.

Today was one of those days, unfortunately.

Writing with Auburnimp didn't work out, and writing on my own didn't work out either. Maybe tomorrow will go better.

I'm getting a headache so I think I'm going to go to bed and read for a while, then get some sleep and try for a better day tomorrow.

Thursday night's game was, for me, unfortunately boring. Friday night's game didn't happen and today has been a day of reading and watching tv, which I do all the time when I'm not working, so, all in all, a disappointing weekend for me.

At least Auburnimp and I got more done on the new Swordbrothers book. We're over 4000 words in two days, which is how we used to write.

I'm not really awake yet, the coffee is still filtering into my caffeine stream, but I think it's a good morning. Maybe. Too early to tell.

Auburnimp and I have a day of writing planned, so I'm going to get off to do that, and check Shadowfire Press emails.

Next week is release week, and I'm still going over edits of Control, the second Through Neon Eyes book. Nothing like waiting until the last minute... gah! I also have a book by Addison Avery to edit, and a short story by Kris Klein to finish editing and issue contracts on. Yeah, I know, a bit cart before the horse, but that's how it goes sometimes.

Tentative title, but Auburnimp and I are writing it and, so far, we have 1500 words.

Yay, we did it! Auburnimp and I finished Darksky and Lakesinger's Journey.

Now on to the next Swordbrothers book. Yippee!

It stormed here yesterday. Well there was lightning by the droves, but not a freaking drop of rain, which did us no good. We're still under a 'red flag' fire danger warning in this entire area. Since the fire in Boulder there have been three others, one in Loveland, one in Fort Collins--the place where High Country Valentine takes place--and one in the Rocky Mountain National Park--where another portion of High Country Valentine is set.

On the writing front... I got about 100 words added to my paranormal old western. I'd just gotten rolling when the storm rolled in over us. Bleh.

I did do some editing of a new story from Kris Klein. We're trying to get it out in October. Gah, wish us luck on that one. I might try for November instead, because the time frame is very short.

We were going to watch some Venture Brothers last night, but technology conspired against us. We couldn't get it to show up on the projector right, so we gave up. Damn, I was really looking forward to it too. Maybe some other time.

I think tonight I'm going to go through my heap of DVDs--all 324 of them--and find something to watch in my room, or maybe on the projector. I just finished watching the Bourne Trilogy on Monday, and now need to select something else to watch. Maybe some anime...

In other writing news, Auburnimp and I are almost done with Dragon & Fenyx 6.5. Once it's finished we'll send it off to our editor and have it out--we hope--this December.

Oh well, enough for now. I'm going to try and get some other work done.

Dragon parade.
